Need...book.

The Betterphoto Guide to Digital Photography is often recommended as an excellent starting point for true beginners.
"Give yourself some slack, the FZ is pretty sophisticated and it is really tough to learn to use the controls, menu systems of the camera and learn exposure and the basics of photography all at the same time. Just drift back and forth from the IA to dial modes to start and you'll start to catch on. Once you get a feel for how the menus and controls work, it will get a "lot" easier."
